According to Total’s EGINA FPSO Deputy Topside Manager within Total E&P Nigeria, the Egina FPSO has sailed away from South Korea and is now on its way to Nigeria. The vessel built by Samsung Heavy Indusries, reportedly left Korea on Tuesday morning, local time, Offshore Energy Today reports.
Also, Jean-Michel Guy, Egina Project Director, has on social media shared a separate photo of the FPSO being towed by two tugs. Furthermore, the website VesselsValue lists the FPSO as launched with the estimated arrival time to Nigeria set at January 30, 2018.
The FPSO, operated by Total, is 330 meters in length, 61 meters across and 34 meters high, with a storage capacity of 2.3 million barrels of oil. Once in Nigerian waters, the FPSO will be moored at the Egina oil field, located some 130 kilometers off the coast of Nigeria at water depths of more than 1,500 meters.
