Protesters claim shut down of 3 Agip oil wells over weekend

Protesters briefly shut three ENI oil wells in southern Nigeria over the weekend and could try to do so again, Reuters reports.

Comrade Timiondi Fabofighe, chairman of the Ikebiri Community Development Committee (CDC), said the protests  took place at ENI subsidiary Agip in Bayelsa state.

ENI however declined to comment on the claims. It was also not immediately clear if the protests had had any impact on oil production.
