P-Harcourt Refinery begs Rivers community to help protect its assets

Port Harcourt Refining Company Limited (PHRC), has pleaded with its Eleme host communities, Eleme Local Government Area, Rivers State, to help protect oil installations in the area, Vanguard reports.

PHRC made the plea last week when it opened a two-day medical outreach for the host communities at Nchia, Ogale as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility with over 3,000 persons benefiting.

Managing Director, PHRC, Shehu Malami, represented by the Manager, Administration, Martins Toluhi, told the communities that oil assets were the nation’s key source of wealth just as destroying them endangers public health.

Malami said: “We call on our host communities to continue on the path of peace and negotiation using the Joint Community Relations Committee platform to resolve differences on issues that may arise in the course of our relationship.”
