NCDMB says Nigerdock fabrication yard meets global standards

The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Mr. Simbi Wabote, has said the Nigerdock fabrication facility in Lagos ranks on a par with international yards, The Punch reports.

Speaking during a courtesy visit of the NCDMB team to Nigerdock on the Snake Island, Apapa, Lagos, he said, “I commend Nigerdock for all the work you are doing here. For the number of people employed in this facility, the quality training available despite the challenges in our industry, you have kept faith with providing employment to more than 100,000 households.”

He noted that despite having seen fabrication facilities in places like Brazil and China, he could confidently say that they were not any better than what he had seen at Nigerdock’s own facility. “Nigerdock is not a foreign company; it is a wholly Nigerian company,” the NCDMB boss noted, saying that the board would work closely with Nigerdock and align with the International Oil Companies and indigenous operators to ramp up activities in the industry.
