N105b debt affecting NDPHC operations – MD/CEO

The Managing Director, Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Chiedu Ugbo during a workshop held by the Power Sector Communications Team in Abuja yesterday, lamented that the over N105 billion debt being owed the firm is affecting its operations, The Nation reports.

He said other challenges bedeviling the firm, include slow pace of work by some contractors resulting in re-assigment of some projects, the poor security situation in some parts of the country as well as vandalism of completed projects and lines.

He also lamented the failure of the distribution companies (DisCos) to provide Distribution Substation Operators (DSOs) to man completed substations. He also decried the reluctance of the DisCos to service customers from Completely Self Protected (CSP) transformers leading to failure to utilise an already handed-over high voltage distribution system.
