HYPREP begins selection of firms for Ogoniland oil spill cleanup


The Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP) yesterday, disclosed that it has commenced the selection process for companies that would be involved in the cleanup of Ogoniland, Vanguard reports.

The Project Coordinator, HYPREP, Dr. Marvin Dekil, explained that the project coordination unit has started the selection of companies that would be involved in the setting up of emergency facilities for the clean-up of oil impacted communities of Ogoni.

Dekil, who was represented by HYPREP’s Head of Communications, Issa Wassa, while sensitizing people of Kpean and Buan communities in Khana Local Government Area of the state, called for cooperation among the communities to allow for a hitch-free clean up of the impacted areas.
