Huawei to help create smarter Nigerian grid with new laboratory

Huawei, a global Information and Communications Technology solutions provider, has said its new open laboratory in Lagos called Lagos Openlab will support the Nigeria electricity supply industry, The Punch reports.

According to a statement, Lagos Openlab, which is the first open laboratory in West Africa, integrates and shares all resources and abilities of Huawei globally, with power industry solutions, such as Internet of Things, Advanced Metering Infrastructure and distribution automation.

The Managing Director, Huawei Technologies Company Nigeria Limited, Mr. Frank Li, in the statement said the lab would serve as a joint innovation platform between Huawei and West African governments, enterprises, customers and partners to accelerate the regional construction of the ICT ecosystem and build a better connected intelligent grid.
