FG mandates Kachikwu, Baru to clear fuel queues this week

The Federal Government Wednesday gave the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu and the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru the marching orders to clear the queues in filling stations in the country before weekend, Vanguard reports.

Briefing State House correspondents after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed also said the rumour that there was a plan to increase the fuel pump price was not true.

He said the council gave Kachikwu as well as Baru marching orders that this fuel scarcity should not last beyond this weekend and added that Mr. Kachikwu assured that the problem will be resolved and also that “there is no cause for alarm.”
