FG to extend local content policy beyond oil – NCDMB

The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, (NCDMB), Mr. Simbi Wabote has advocated the need for diversification of focus on Nigerian content beyond the petroleum industry, Daily Trust reports.

Wabote gave the advice during a courtesy visit to Dorman Long Galvanizing Plant at Agege in Lagos. He said the development was necessary in order to boost the capacity of indigenous companies, adding that a country with a mono-product economy was at great risk and its effects could be seen in Nigeria today.

Wabote said there were bounteous investment opportunities in other sectors like construction, telecommunications, power and transportation that local content policies and strategies could benefit from in the country.
