DPR to collaborate with Lagos State on oil, gas development


The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has indicated its willingness to collaborate with the Lagos State Government in their quest to develop a road map for oil and gas in the state, Daily Trust reports.

The partnership assurance was given by Mr. Wole Akinyosoye, the agency’s Zonal Operations Controller, Lagos, during a courtesy visit to DPR by the Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Olawale Oluwo.

Mr. Akinyosoye, who represented the Director of Petroleum Resources, Mr. Mordecai Danteni Baba Ladan, stated that DPR as a responsible corporate citizen was ready to work with the state government to realize its aspirations for the oil and gas industry.

The Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Oluwo on his part re-emphasized that the purpose of his visit was to seek areas of cooperation and to partner with DPR on all oil and gas matters as they affect the state, especially in the area of regulation for safety.
