Anambra community protests bills, outages by EEDC


Ugwagba Obosi Layout community in Idemili North Local Government Area Anambra State, stormed the major streets in the council area protesting against Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, over alleged “fraudulent billing, lack of prepaid metres and non availability of light.” Vanguard reports.

 The community called for massive transfer of staff of EEDC working at 3, Obodoukwu Street, Ugwuagba Layout, Obosi for alleged fraudulent activities and hoarding of prepaid metres.

Addressing newsmen, President General of the community, Chief Osita Oji, said the residents were tired of EEDC’s exorbitant bills and in the midst of no power supply, and demanded the installation of prepaid metres.
